Set of two older Ginori demitasse cups with angular handles gold trim and design and blue dots. Handpainted in Doccia, Italy. They measure 2 3/4" across the top and 2 1/4" high. I have not been able to identify this pattern, making it hard to find and rare. It is just lovely. There is light gold loss on the connecting lines between the flowers, and one spot on the rim, but the rest of the gold is intact and they are otherwise in great condition.
Ginori was founded in 1735 and was the first porcelain factory in Doccia, Italy, near Florence. Their porcelain was collected by wealthy Europeans and was sold to the public a few decades later. Based on the all caps block letter mark, I would date these cups from around the 1930s. The company produced their fine porcelain until 2013 when the company was purchased by Gucci.
