Hummel's Christmas Song was one of six new releases that came out in 1981 after TM6 the time period. It was sculpted 25 years earlier by G. Skrobek. It is approximately 6.5 inches tall. Anything other than a TM6 is considered to be rare. Excellent condition. Original box unavailable.

During the 1930's a nun, Sister Maria Innocentia Hummel (Berta Hummel), began drawing images of children. The drawings drew the attention of a porcelain maker, Franz Goebel, who produced the first line of Hummels in Germany in 1935. They were very popular but during World War II the factory was closed down. However, after the war was over their popularity returned and they become known worldwide and quickly increased in value. The word Hummel means bumblebee in German and in 1950 Goebel changed to a high flying bee in a V as a tribute to Berta Hummel.
