Upsala Ekeby was a flagship of Swedish ceramics from the start in 1885. By 1920's, the factory employed 300 people and was the largest in Scandinavia. By 1930's it was one of the brightest stars of the Swedish Interior Design World.
Anna-Lisa Thompson joined the company in 1933. her work was innovative, testing new materials & decorative techniques. This vase is from her Marina series.
The glazed charcoal dots on the matte brown with the mustard glazed top would be a fine addition to a mid-century modern house, a contemporary loft or an eclectic home.
