Unique and beautiful, this pendant is designed as a snake coiled around an oval jasper stone. The snake, a symbol of everlasting love, is set with finely cut rose diamonds, precision set in the snake as well as in the bail.
It is circa 1860 and is English in origin. Queen Victoria had received an engagement ring from Albert in the form of a snake. The form then became popular and used in earrings, lockets rings and pendants. The symbol enduring love is still popular today.
The pendant is in excellent, all original condition and is quite a treasure created by a talented jeweler for a wealthy patron.
