These are early 19th century paste earrings, circa 1820. The stones are all faceted and foil back to reflect light. They have lovely silver work on the perimeter which is rare to find in this period.
Formerly circa 1820 buttons, they were converted to earrings in the 19th century with the addition of custom, 18 karat rose gold,, shepherd hook ear wires. They are especially beautiful because they were set on the diagonal.
They measure 1/2 inch across x 6/8ths long from the top of the shepherd hook gold wire.
The size is perfect for any outfit. They are elegant, and the perimeter detailing adds a unique beauty.
Condition is excellent.
