This antique diamond ring is English, circa 1820. The motif is very rare, a design of clovers set with Old Mine Cut diamonds. The symbolism of the clover is of luck and good fortune. It has been used by fine jewelers even today, such as Van Cleef and Arpels in their Perlee Clover line.
The diamonds are radiant and finely set in hand crimped silver collets. The setting is 9 karat silver top gold, typical of the period of design.
Currently a size 7 3/4 US. It can be enlarged in size, but not reduced.
It is timeless in its beauty and in superb, original condition.
Simply an exquisite example of Georgian jewelry.
