This Georgian gold seal is unique. It is circa 1820, and has two family crests joined with a sentimental ribbon on the top. It represents the marriage of two families of stature and wealth. The two crests are decorated with tendrils of delicate flowers.
The stone is carnelian and the carving well done and very distinct. The design of the gold is also charming. When turned, there are two wishbones that are formed.
The seal may have been given to the groom as a love token. Today, seals are enjoyed by men and women alike. This seal would look so lovely joined with a chain or cord.
Measures 1 1/4 inches long X 1 inch across.
Condition is excellent.
