This lovely, antique, early 19th century French gold and enamel ring is circa 1820. It has the French word Amitie (friendship) on the central plaque. It has classical shell motifs flaking the center. This token of close friendship was used on lockets, clasps and rings and given as gifts.
It is 18 karat gold and has French marks on the back of the shank. The ring is light weight, typical of this period.
The black/ white enamel decoration is beautifully designed. There is slight wear to the enamel and to the shank as this ring was worn and loved through the centuries. Overall condition is very good. Suitable for a man or woman.
Sentimental and meaningful token of friendship.
It is a size 8.5 US
