This refined, French, 800 silver chain was made during the Art Nouveau Period of 1890-1910. This period of design, although relatively short, overlapped the Edwardian and Victorian periods. It was marked by a great influence of Japanese art and its beautiful depiction of nature. it was marked with fluid lines and the use of irises, orchids lilies dragonflies etc.
The rectangular, finely detailed links of this chain are accented by the plaques of stylized "framed" irises.
The weight is a substantial 64.1 grams. It retains a French guarantee stamp on a ring near the dog clip. The rectangular, detailed links accented by plaques of stylized iris creates a work of art. The chain is 56 inches long and can be doubled or tripled when worn. It terminates with a dog clip that could attach a fob, or locket of choice.
One of the finest chains I have offered for sale.
