This is a charming and beautiful English Georgian pendant, circa 1830. It has fine multi-colored gold and applied leaves, a central forget me not flower.
There are alternating bezel set turquoise and amethyst stones around the perimeter. The gold work is superlative, and it retains the original, rich patina that only the ages can produce.
The pendant would have been given as a sentimental love token with the pansy in the language of flowers symbolizing "think of me." The reverse has a locket with plaited hair.
I have joined the pendant with a new 16 inch 14 karat gold chain that is a perfect complement in color and detail. It is available separately.
The pendant is unmarked as antique English pieces are supposed to be, and has been fully tested to be 15 karat gold.
The color of the gold and the detailing is superb.
Timeless appeal and very beautiful.
