This is a rare Regency gold locket ring. The Regency Period spans the years 1811-1820 and had wonderful, sophisticated, elegant designs. This ring is designed as a locket in the shape of an envelope. It has black and white enamel and opens to reveal a locket that could house a wad of cotton for a vinaigrette or for a lock of hair.
The design is restrained, typical of this period and the gold work very finely executed, The locket opens and closes securely. It is completely original and in excellent condition. Beautiful and so rare to find.
