This is an exemplary, antique sterling silver bangle bracelet, circa 1880. It is unusually fine both in its design and in its simplicity. The bangle has a central b buckle motif, very popular during the period of 1860-1880 in England. The buckle is beautifully engraved, and even the circular engraving around the strap holes is a testament to the thought and detail of this bracelet.
It has engraving on each side with a cleverly concealed push clasp. The back is unadorned, as is the area surrounding the buckle. The condition is very good, with minor dings to the reverse, commensurate with age and use.
It measures a bold 1 1/4 inches North to South and has an approximate inner circumference of 7 inches. It would fit an average to larger wrist.
It has full English hallmarks, date letter and makers mark on the interior.
A fine and beautiful example of Victorian silver jewelry.
