This very special locket is as unique to receive as it is to give to a loved one. It is Georgian, circa 1820 and has two convex rock crystals set in 15 karat gold settings. The locket opens and closes securely with a hinge mechanism. It is set with a central turquoise enamel flower representing a forget me not flower. In the language of flowers, it was quite popular as a sentimental love token in Georgian jewelry.
The purity of design and the accent of the flower make this a wonderful locket. It could house a dried forget me not flower, a lock of hair, or simply and elegantly worn as seen in the picture. I will include a cord , as shown, that has a 14 karat closure.
It measures 1 1/4 inches from the top of the bale X 1 inch across. Condition is excellent. It lasts longer than a bouquet......a lifetime.
England, circa 1820
