This long, French 800 silver chain is circa 1890. It has hand-made links that were twisted with silver wire to create a pattern, and separated by lengths of oval and round links. The chain is 55 inches long X 1/8ths inches wide. It weighs 25.4 grams. It can be doubled/tripled around the neck and is easily joined with a locket or charm, a fashion so popular today,
All the links are smooth and finely done, as expected of French jewelry. The spring ring opens and closes securely. French guarantee marks for silver are on the end ring. Condition is excellent.
