These rare and beautiful earrings are circa 1800. They are called day/night earrings as the bottoms detach for daytime wear and can be added for evening formal attire. There are four faceted, foil back citrines surrounded by small rose cut diamonds. They are set in 15 karat gold and silver.
The backs are bulbous and lovely from every angle.
They measure 1 1/2 inches long from the top of the wire x 1/2 inch across the bottom. The condition is excellent considering the age. There is a facet chip on one top citrine not seen when worn and difficult to see with a loop. They retain the original back to front ear wires.
Simply wonderful! England,c circa 1800
