Every once in awhile a piece of jewelry takes my away and this moonstone ring is one such jewel. It is a unique design, completely hand rendered. The moonstone is a sugarloaf cabochon and exhibits gem quality adularescence. This term is used to describe the characteristic sheen so prized in moonstones.
The band is completely hand made with three colors of gold. It has a vine motif set with flowers and leaves which are applied and hand engraved. The collet is also beautifully detailed with a pattern matching the band.
Unmarked, it has been fully tested as 14 karat gold. Most likely US origin, circa 1920. It measures 7.5 US. condition is superb. The pictures speak for themselves....
+++Please note all items listed as silver or gold are either marked, (in which case there will be a picture of the mark if possible) or has been acid texted by me to verify the metal content. +++
