This bracelet is one of the most coveted of Spratling designs. William Spratling was an American born silversmith whose contributions to Mexican artisans has given him the title of the Father of Mexican Silver. The Taxco designer is world renowned, and this rosewood and sterling silver bracelet is a fine testimony of his skill not only in design , but in execution. . It was completed during his first design phase in the 1940's and has a WS print circle
with a Spratling Silver Stamp.
The bracelet is in excellent condition, completely original and authentic. The silver has a beautiful patina and is a striking contrast to the mellow rosewood. The bracelet measures 7 1/2 inches long X 1 1/2 inches wide. For reference , Mexican silver p. 49 and Spratling Silver A Field Guide p. 42.
