Antique Victorian Amethyst Pearl Gold Brooch

Antique Victorian amethyst and pearl brooch in 15k gold; this beautiful brooch is a superb example of the finesse of the Victorian craftsmen with great attention to detail. It is set with a central amethyst weighing 6.75ct surrounded by seed pearls on a wide gold bar, heavily carved with scrolls in a floral design. To the reverse it is fitted with a pin and hook closure with the addition of a safety chain for security. Weight: 9.70gm. Stamped 15ct. Length: 5.5cm x 0.8cm x depth 1cm (2 1/4″ x 3/4″). The brooch is in very good condition and dates from the late Victorian era, 1880 – 1900. It is supplied with a velvet Victorian brooch box. Ref: L021
