This extremely large green frog Break's Over Frogman bronze sculpture is based on the famous photograph depicting 11 men eating lunch, seated on a girder with their feet dangling 840 feet (260 meters) above the New York City streets.
This is the second in Tim's themed workmen on steel girders.
Although the photograph shows real ironworkers, it is believed that the moment was staged by Rockefeller Center to promote its new skyscraper. Picture not included.
The iconic photo of construction workers taking their break provides the inspiration for Tim Cotterill's newest work, "Break's Over." A bold, signature green frog balances precariously on a steel girder as he ventures back to work. If you were fortunate enough to acquire an original "Lunch Break" this is the perfect companion sculpture.

Tim Cotterill's bronze frog sculptures capture the whimsical character, the jewel-like quality and the pure JOY of these beautiful little creatures. "Through the centuries and throughout the world, frogs have symbolized many things - "Good Luck, Royalty, Fertility, Magic Poisons, Energy, Charm."
In today's fast world, life sometimes becomes complicated and stressful. As you can see, my art is not. It's Elegant, Stylish, Whimsical, Unique and pure FUN! As children we were excited to see our first frogs. They made us laugh when they jumped our way! We were curious about the strange way they felt; the odd way they moved and their simple contented look. I used to watch frogs at my pond in England, noting how each one had its own color markings, character and even personality."
