This antique walnut hymnal holder was once attached to the back of a old church pew. It would make a nice book rack and could also be used to hold magazines or other reading material. A customer in our shop bought one to place in the bathroom next to the toilet – for those folks who like to read while they tend to their daily duties.
The original finish is still in good condition with some expected wear. There is a very small splinter on one side.
The side pieces are slightly curved toward the bottom on the back edge, but this piece will sit securely against the wall once screwed in place using the top 2 screw holes. The overall width is 22 inches and the inside depth is 1 7/8 inches. The side pieces are 8 ¾ inches tall. It projects 2 ½ inches from the wall.
