A restored oak ice box with two doors and carved decoration. The original cast brass hardware is quite ornate and beautiful. The doors open and latch closed as they should. There is even a key, should you wish to lock the doors. The interior is lined with galvanized tin. It’s a sturdy piece with paneled sides and back. The satin finish is smooth and even. Given that this was a utilitarian piece, it does have signs of use.
Some people like to repurpose old ice boxes for liquor or wine cabinets.
The ice box is 48 inches tall, 27 inches wide and 18 ¼ inches deep. The door openings are 14 ½ inches wide. The upper compartment is 11 ½ inches tall and the lower one is 19 inches tall. The inside depth is 12 inches.
