This apothecary / pharmacy counter or cabinet was found in an old drug store in the village of Leipsic, Ohio. Manufactured in the early 1900’s, it is made of beautifully grained quarter sawn oak and has drawers on both sides, making it a great piece for a kitchen island. There are 11 drawers with cast brass knobs on each side. There is one longer drawer on the bottom on both sides.
We have refinished the cabinet and it is in very good condition. The drawers operate smoothly, and are clean and smoothly finished on the inside. It has a very simple design that would fit in with many types of decor such as Arts & Crafts or Mission, Victorian and Country.
The cabinet is 35 inches tall and the top measures 56 inches long and 36 inches wide. The smaller drawers have inside measurements of 11 ½ inches wide, 14 ½ inches long and 5 inches tall. The 2 larger drawers are 27 inches wide, 14 ½ inches long and 6 inches tall.
