A large vintage double-sided advertising sign for Bostonian Shoes. The sign has been restored. The metal frame is a dark maroon that is the same color as the letters. The thick plastic lenses are intact with light crazing on the inside paint. There are 2 hooks for hanging the sign or it can sit on top of something. The sign was made by Neon Products Inc. of Lima, Ohio, and there is a badge on the bottom of the signs that lights up nicely. At some point over the years, the neon tubing and transformer were removed. It is now lit from within with low voltage rope lighting. Although both sides appear the same when they are unlit, when they are lit up, one side is darker and more reddish. That side may have been re-painted. The sign still displays nicely and would would look great in a bar or restaurant, especially if it were in Boston.

The sign weighs about 36 pounds before packing. It is 60 inches long, 12 ½ inches tall and 8 ½ inches wide.

We estimate the age of the sign to be from the mid century, probably the 1950s – 60’s.
