This large primitive homemade wooden tote was obviously used to carry something heavy. Maybe it held tools for a carpenter or other skilled laborer. It would be wonderful beside a comfortable chair to hold gardening magazines, books and catalogs, or maybe the latest issues of your favorite primitive magazines such as A Simple Life. It's up to your own imagination what to use it for.
At some point in time the back has been replaced, but all else is original. There are old nail holes, bent over nails, scars and scratches. On both sides near the front corners there is a small area of wood missing. I did mention it was primitive, didn’t I?
The overall height is 17 ¾ inches, depth is 8 inches and length is 34 inches. The interior is 13 ¾ inches tall and 6 ¾ inches deep. The front panel is 13 ¾ inches tall. This piece is heavy, weighing in at about 20 pounds. The wood looks like pine and poplar.
