A really great looking industrial design table with heavy cast iron legs supporting the cherry top and lower shelf. Both the top and shelf are bolted to the iron framework with steel carriage bolts secured underneath with square nuts. There is also a swing out stool at one end, and it is adjustable in height by turning the seat until the desired working height is reached. The legs were once screwed to the floor, and if you wanted to, you could probably fit the table with some heavy duty industrial casters. Although the table could be used in many ways, it would make a fabulous kitchen island or counter. You could also pull stools up to it and use it for dining and entertaining.
This table was once used in a local meat packing facility that opened in the 1920's and later closed in the 60's. The iron legs have the original patina, and have been given a coat of clear lacquer to preserve it. The finish on the table top and lower shelf is in excellent condition.
The table top is 8 feet long, 33 1/2 inches wide and 1 inch thick. The lower shelf is 7 feet long, 20 1/2 inches wide and 1 inch thick. The table is 33 1/4 inches tall.
