Coach Dark Navy Leather Convertible Clutch #9635 - Made in New York City

Here is a nice classic heavy leather bag that is style # 9635 / Convertible Clutch, but the serial number (516-6213) predates the use of the model number, so 1970s. The bag was made in New York City. It measure approximately 11.5”x 7.5”x 2.5” with a leather strap that does not adjust. It has a flap closure that fastens with a brass turn lock. There is one zippered interior pocket and a slip pocket under the flap closure. The brass hardware has patina and it has the original leather hang tag. The bag is in good condition with expected wear for a bag of this age. It is a really dark navy blue, almost black but it has a sort of faded look mostly on the flap and sides. I think it would benefit from a reconditioning but I don’t know how much the finish will be changed. I’ve listed a picture of the bag with the original name and style number from an old brochure I had. I’m an enthusiast and not an expert, but there is something special about the New York City bags I think. As with all of the earlier bags, it is unlined and will last for many more years.
