*Important Note*: If you want to pay using Paypal, please choose other online payment and wait for me to send you a Paypal request. Ruby Lane now requires sellers to have a Paypal Business account, which requires too much automatic access to my account. For this reason you cannot automatically pay with Paypal in my shop, but I can manually send you an invoice and you can complete your purchase that way.
This is a lovely set of unused women's accessories still boxed as if they had just come from the store. I did a bit of research on The Higbee Co. It was founded in 1860 under Higbee and Hower Dry Goods in Cleveland. Beginning in 1902, they went under The Higbee Co. I don't know when it switched to just Higbee's. I estimate this set to be from the early quarter of the 20th century. It consists of a beautiful pair of long cream colored silk stockings stamped McCallum. These have absolutely beautiful woven designs including a basket of flowers. They are still tied and have the original tissue paper inserts which is crumbling due to age. The paper is any dark areas that you see in the stockings - they are not stained. Next there is a beautiful ecru lace bonnet. This doesn't have any ties, looks as though it would just rest on the head. Last is a beautiful seafoam green chiffon hankie with silk and metallic ribbon flowers and lace trim. This is still folded beautifully on the top of the box. The box has a paper covering and tissue insert which are both age soiled The box measures 9.75" x 6.25" x 1". I am in the process of downsizing and looking to find good new homes for some of my dolls and other items. US shipping only - priority insured. My shipping charges are estimates only, any overcharge is promptly refunded.
