This is a lovely early bisque shoulderhead doll marked "F" on the lower back edge. I've seen this doll referred to as the A.T. type Kestner. She has a closed mouth, beautiful spiral blue glass sleep eyes and a pale blond mohair wig with cardboard pate. She has a nice complexion with peachy cheeks and full, slightly smiling lips. She is on a gusseted kid body with bisque lower arms. The kid body is soiled and there is some patching to the kid and the shoulder fastening has been reinforced with buttons. She is wearing an antique fine cotton dress with lace inserts, antique pantalettes with matching petticoat and a heavier cotton chemise that is a bit large. The dress is really lovely with an abundance of lace inset all over and a ribbon threaded through insert lace on the waist. It closes in back with 3 buttons , The pieces are aged and could probably stand a cleaning, but I leave that to the next owner. She is wearing antique olive cotton socks and original black oilcloth shoes with buckles. The shoes are marked 2 1/2 on the soles. I haven't removed them. There is a satin and lace bonnet that fits well and matches nicely, but I think it's newer. The bisque has not cracks, breaks or repairs. The head will be packed with tissue for shipping.
