I can't say what this doll is, but it's very interesting. It most closely resembles a London Rag Baby doll, but does not have the gauze cover over the wax face and this doll has black glass bead eyes. The doll measures about 13" (about 19" including the gown). It is all cloth except for the wax face which is applied to the front only. The shoulder area is covered with a fine flesh colored silk like fabric which has a few holes in it. There is an ornate ribbon and lace bonnet attached to the head and a few curls of mohair coming from underneath. Doll is wearing a white long gown with a nice lace bodice and blue ribbons on the shoulders. There is a blue wool hooded cape with some moth damage. This fits perfectly over the lace bonnet. Also wearing lace trimmed cotton diaper. Everything appears to be machine sewn. Wearing one sock which is much more soiled than any of the other parts. I saw a London Rag at auction and the hands and general construction were almost identical. The dress ties in the back - the ties look like replacements. The doll has the general look of a doll from the 1860's - 1870's. I cannot find another quite like it. Greiner doll and other items are for display only.
