USA - c. 1860's This is a serene and lovely Greiner doll with a classic look. What sets this girl apart is her expertly made three piece dress. If you are a fan of early fashion, as I am - you will love this outfit. However, first things first. The doll is in good condition on her antique cloth body, with leather arms. Her arms are worn and seem unmatched at the top, but the hand are the same. The left leather portion of the arm is coming detached from the cloth upper arm. The rest of the body is basically sturdy. I have not removed her shoes or socks. The head is attached with cotton tape and is in basically good condition with just some very slight touch up on the nose and mouth. There is typical wear on the back of the hair and also some residue on the back of the shoulder plate from tape or a label. She is wearing 3 pieces of cotton undergarments - pantalettes, a chemise and a petticoat. She also has knit cotton stockings and leather shoes that are worn, but good to still have them! Her cotton dress is so lovely. It is all hand sewn and consists of 3 pieces - a skirt, a top and a bustle. There are so many intricate seams and details on the top including the layered sleeves. The dress is pale mint green with a rose pattern and cotton lace trim. The skirt and bustle close with old brass hook and eye closures and the top closes with white glass buttons. On the underside of the bustle piece in the back are two string closures. When you tie this tight, it gives fullness to the bustle - I've not seen this before, but it works. There is fading to the fabric and some staining. She is a really pretty doll and represents the fashion of her day quite well. Please note, that USPS shipping prices have gone up a good bit and this will be a large, heavy box. She could be sent regular parcel for a good deal less, but it takes longer to arrive and in that manner gets bounced around more. My shipping amounts are estimates until the doll is packaged and destination zip code is added. I promptly refund and shipping over charges. US shipping only.
