c. 1900 – New York From my collections of twins…here’s a nice pair of printed cloth dolls by Art Fabric Mills, NY. These were sold uncut on sheets of fabric to be sewed and stuffed at home. I imagine it was difficult to sew this tiny pair. They are both nice and clean with no fading. They are firmly stuffed and are wearing matching tissue silk dresses and bonnets with red ties. The both have cotton slips as well. I have not undressed them but they appear to be in nearly mint condition. There is a bit of wear to the very fine silk in some spots with the worst spot being on one brim. Both have metal hooks sewn on the back maybe to help display them - can be easily removed. There is a tiny bit of loose thread from the seams on one of the dolls feet, but they are still sturdy. They are pictured with a larger version of the same doll that I also have listed in my shop.
