c. 1890's - Turkish/Ottoman I love this item! It's great for someone that collects sewing accessories, or has an interest in items or shoes/clothing from Turkey. I was told it was from the 1890's. The shoe portion has a leather sole which winds up to the traditional pointed toe. The top of the shoe almost looks like lizard skin, but it is really skillfully woven strips of what I think are leather. The sock portion is colorful woven cotton, typical of this region. The top portion (where the pins would go), does have some wear and holed from use. There is also the remnants of some wool yarn that looks like it went around the bottom of the stocking portion at one time - it has since worn away. This unique piece measures 3 1/4" long and 2" high. Great detail on this attention grabber. US Shipping Only.
