Germany, c. 1870-1890. Here's a wax-over papier mache shoulderhead doll on a cloth body with turned wood lower arms and cloth legs with composition lower legs with molded boots. Doll is wearing factory original clothing which consists of pantaloons, half slip and a gauzy white cotton dress. All of the clothing has some minor wear and light stains, but it is all in overall good condition. The head has the shape of a hairstyle molded into it, but the original wig is gone and has been replaced with a mohair addition. There are pink faceted glass earrings and the heeled, molded boots are really great - painted blue with orange tassels. There is a small chip on the back of the right heel. The body has some wear and a few little holes. There is a non-working bellows in the torso. The head has typical crazing and discoloration. The lips and brows were re-touched. There are large black glass pupil-less eyes. The doll has a nice presence even with the wear. US Shipping Only.
