In the view of its innovations and influence, the Brayton Laguna Pottery ranks as one of the foremost companies in the history of Southern California pottery. Founded in 1927 by Durlin E Brayton it continued until its closing in 1968. This lovely figurine, circa 1940's, is named Miranda. The picture of sweetness with big blue eyes and clutching a bouquet of yellow flowers with both hands. Dressed in Dutch influence attire in shades of blue solids and strips, it illuminates her facial features and golden hair. She stands 7" tall and is faintly stamped on one foot "Miranda - Brayton Laguna". Written in pencil is "Dec 1947", indicating she was probably a Christmas gift that year. There are no cracks, chips, crazing or repairs. Very cute.
