In 1871 David Henry Haeger purchased a brick factory at Dundee, Illinois. The progression from bricks to commercial dinnerware and art-ware has brought the company to the present day. This pair of panthers sitting a pedestals, #R-648, circa 1950's, are done in an ebony high glaze and painted pink eyes. They stand 6" tall with a pedestal base 2 7/8" wide. There are no cracks or chips, but both have some minor glaze flakes around the bottom edge and several minor glaze scratches (see photos). Have felt on base, but probably unmarked.
