The Fostoria Glass Company was built in 1887 at Fostoria, Ohio, but by 1891 had moved to Moundsville, West Virginia, where it remained until operations ceased in 1986. By the late 1930's, Fostoria was recognized as the largest producer of handmade glassware in the world. The "Navarre" pattern is the most collected Fostoria crystal etched glassware. Produced from 1937 - 1980 in a variety of pieces, plate etching #327. This lovely handled oval cake plate #2440, measures 10 1/2" across the plate and 13 1/2" from handle-to-handle. There are no cracks, chips or repairs, utensil marks are apparent in the clear center section.
