Details are lacking, but the available information suggests that various members of the Tolpin family were responsible for the formation of eight different Chicago china decorating studios spanning the period of 1920 - 1954. First arriving from Russia in 1907, several members worked for the Pickard firm. This attractive 2 piece set is heavily decorated with colorful violets in shades of blue and purple, shaded green leaves and blue and golden highlights. The items are further adorned with wide gold trim. The vase is 5 1/2" tall and the pin tray is 5 1/2" in length. Both carry the "Tolpin" stamp in gold, circa 1945 - 1954 and the initials of the decorator. There are no cracks, chips, nicks or repairs; slight gold wear on trim.
