Maker - Developed by Josiah Wedgwood in the 1770s, Jasper-Ware has a matte base layer with raised, usually white, decorations. The base layer is often light blue, but it can also be green, black, dark blue, yellow, cream and other shades.

Description - This Renaissance/Neoclassical designed Wedgwood Jug has the Portland or dark blue base with raised white figures motif. Two wide exquisite floral bands surround the jug along with the central motif of Neoclassical figures of woman, children, trees, flowers and a sheep. The handle is decorated with delicate leafage. The jug is stamped "Wedgwood - Made in England" a mark used from 1908-1969; and the number "30" and "X".

Dimensions - The jug measures 6 1/2" in height, 5" from handle-to-spout, 5" across the widest portion and 3" across the base.

Condition - There are no cracks, chips or repairs; near mint.
