This lovely cabinet plate, circa 1940's, is decorated with the portrait of two Victorian ladies in their finest period attire. The studio decorated plate used a technique called "Mixtion", a process of combining transfer designs along with some hand painted highlights. The plate was decorated and signed "W. Loman Meyers Studio - August 1945" and has the original paper label "Meyer's Studio, 191 S Pennsylvania Ave., Atlantic City, N.J. The delicate round plate measures 5 3/4" across with narrow gold edge. It is marked with a Crown and "H & Co. - Selb - Bavaria" indicating the Franz Heinrich Company, 1896-1976. This back stamp was used from 1911 forward. There are no cracks, chips or repairs; near mint.
