Founded in 1895 in Chicago, Illinois, the Pickard China Company rapidly became one of the premier decorating companies in the country. Originally importing china blanks from European manufacturers until 1938 when they developed their own fine translucent china.
This lovely sugar bowl and creamer set, could be from the Russian Flowers series, is decorated with with delicate pink rose blossoms nestled among green leaves. Both pieces are further enhanced with gold lattice work, bell-flowers, bands, dots, handles, cover finial and trim. Some images are detailed with black. The sugar bowl is 3 3/4" in height and 5 1/2" from handle-to-handle; the creamer is 3 1/4" in height and 4 1/2" from spout-to-handle. Both carry mark #7, 1912 - 1918, decal over gold maple leaf. Neither piece is artist signed. There are no cracks, chips, or repairs on this set; near mint; the gold is excellent.
