Hand painted china is beautiful and unique as it portrays the artists emotions and visions for the subject he or she is creating. This Arts & Crafts hand painted cabinet plate with floral motif, circa 1914, was created by a very talented artist with great attention to detail and subject naturalism.
The white porcelain Bavaria coup blank is decorated with a wide band of floral flowers, blossoms and foliage done in exquisite outline detailing with burgundy enamel. An inter-circle and rim is decorated with gold. The plate measures 8 1/4" across and is stamped with the Hutschenreuther Selb Bavaria mark, circa 1857-1920, and "Favorite". The plate is signed and dated by the artist "J S Davis '14". There are no cracks, chips or repairs; near mint. Unique and beautiful plate.
