Hand decorated porcelain is beautiful no matter if executed in a factory decorating studio, professional studio or home studio environment, the end results is what really matters.

This gorgeous and rare sardine divided tray was probably created by a exceptional artist in a home studio; I am saying this as it carries no marking or signatures to state otherwise. The wonderful porcelain blank, circa 1900, was manufactured by the noted Tressemann & Vogt Porcelain Company in France. The entire piece is covered in a life-like seascape motif with both sections of the tray showing colorful seashells in various shapes along with coral and other sea plants. The color pallet in shades of green, aqua, gray, coral, brown, tan, pink and red is outstanding. The gently scalloped and embossed border is decorated with the fisherman's netting with the edge decorated with gold. The tray measures 10 1/2" in length and 6" at the widest point. Stamped in green "T & V Limoges France Depose" a hallmark used 1892-1907. There are no cracks, chips or repairs; near mint.
