Thomas Webb & Sons was an English glass company, founded in 1837 by Thomas Webb (1804-1869) near Stourbridge, England, later became Thomas Webb & Sons. Webb operated the Platts glasshouse from 1837 to 1856 and then the Dennis glassworks from 1855 to 1990.

This gorgeous "Peachblow" cased glass vase, circa 1880-1890, is the classic bulbous shape with tapered top. The vase is blood red at the top modulating to peach pink at the base, over a white interior. The vase is decorated in a Japanese motif of gilt enamel trailing vines and delicate flowers. This style is many times attributed to Jules Barbe. The vase measures 7 3/4" in height, 4" in width at the widest part, with 1" opening at the top and 2" across the base. There are no cracks, chips or repairs; the gilt decoration is near mint; the top edge was originally gilt decorated which is mostly missing (see photo). Lovely vase with great color.
