A beautiful hand-painted figural bowl in the shape of a large pansy flower. Made by the Wheelock Company of Germany during the earlier 1900's. Probably made to compete with the figural items of the Royal Bayreuth Company which today are very sought after. The pansy is painted in shades of red with yellow throat; it measures 11" across and 3" in depth. The markings consist of the Wheelock mark in green, #3256 and impressed #880. There are no chips, cracks or repairs on this piece; one minute paint flake on the edge that can hardly be felt or seen. See photo #3 at about 2 o'clock. A super figural china piece for your collection.
