Sascha Brastoff made decorative accessories, ceramics, enamels on copper, and plastics of his own design. He headed a factory, Sascha Brastoff of California, Inc., in West Los Angeles, from 1953 until about 1973. He died in 1993. Pieces signed with the signature Sascha Brastoff were his work and are the most expensive. Other pieces marked Sascha B. or with a stamped mark were made by others in his company. Brastoff made hand-painted vases, bowls, ashtrays, and figurines with his trademark overglaze gold trim and flamboyant decorations.

This lovely three footed bowl is from his Alaskan Series and features a image of an Alaskan Inuit with right hand raised and waving. In the background are outlines of the Alaskan snow covered mountain range. It is signed "Sascha B" along the interior of the bowl and "C4" on the base. The bowl measures 9" in length, 7" in width at the widest point and 2 3/4" in height. There are no cracks, chips or repairs; near mint.
