"Chintz" is the generic name for English china with an allover floral transfer design. This eye-catching china is reminiscent of chintz dress fabric of English gardens in full bloom. This 3-Pc trio named "Marina" was produced by the Lord Nelson Company, circa 1937. The set consist of a cup, saucer and dessert plate. The floral design is various blossoms in shades of red, pink, gold, blue and orange with delicate green and gray leaves against a white background. The plate measures 71/2" across, the saucer 5 3/4" across and the cup is 3 1/4" across and 2 7/8" tall with arched deco-looking handle. The edges and handle are enhanced with gold. Several marks are displayed; "Lord Nelson Ware - Made in England - Marina" and "BCM/Nelson Ware - Made in England". There are no cracks, chips, nicks or repairs; age related crazing is present on the pieces.
