The Alfred Stellmacher Imperial & Royal Porcelain Factory, Turn-Teplitz, Bohemian, then part of the Austro-Hungarian Empire was founded in 1859. The factory produced decorative porcelain, flowers, table and household porcelain. The factory was purchased by Ernst Wahliss in 1894.

This gorgeous pitcher, circa 1882-1894, is hand painted with a motif of multi-colored rose blossoms in shades of pink, yellow and lavender with yellow stamins, nestled among shaded olive green/yellow leafage with blue/gray highlights, against a soft ivory bisque color. The slender stems, flowers and some leaves are delicately outlined with gold enamel. The embossed form of the pitcher is unique, with the round body showing gently swirled ribbing, with waves around the base. The neck portrays embossed trees which compliments the sculptured twig handle entwined by a golden snake. The rim is also gold trimmed.

The pitcher measures 7 1/2" in height and 4 3/4" across the widest portion. It carries the stamp "A. Stellmacher - Teplitz"; and the number "5". There are no cracks, chips or repairs; there is a tiny spot on the rim that is either a manufacturing flaw or a professionally touched up flea bite. The decorations are outstanding.
