Founded in 1794 in Tettau, Bavaria, the Royal Bayreuth firm is well known for it's superior quality items. Included in this list are their Rose Tapestry pieces. The tapestry look was achieved by pressing fabric against the damp surface of the porcelain giving the textured look and feel of fabric.

This lovely rose tapestry cream pitcher sculptured handle is decorated with a multitude of yellow, pink and white rose blossoms nestled among soft green leaves with gray highlights in the background. The handle and edge is trimmed with gold. It is stamped in blue with the #2 mark, which is the most commonly found mark; circa late 1800's to pre-World War II era. It measures 3 3/4" in height and 3 1/2" from handle-to-spout. There are no cracks, chips or repairs; minor gold wear on rim. Lovely and scarce.
