Paperweights have long been a favorite among collectors and have been used as a means of advertising, souvenir appeal and decorative purposes. This is a great advertising glass dome paperweight from the late 1800's or early 1900's. It is advertising various types of "Emerson Saws" distributed by the "American Saw Company" located in the state of New York. The paper disk under the clear glass dome depicts a round circular saw blade in black with white advertising information. The wording states, "Emerson's Patent, Circular & Long Saws, Require No Gumming, For Descriptive Pamphlet Address American Saw Co., N.Y." The round paperweight is 3" across and 1 1/4" high. The paper disk is undamaged and sharp with felt pad covering; the glass dome is clear with several tiny, no harm, surface nicks. A super item with cross-over appeal.
