Wonderful "egg-shaped" rose bowl made by the Phoenix Glass Company of Monaca, PA., circa 1890. The rose bowl was made at Phoenix during the years of Joseph Webb's involvement with the firm. The piece is bright pink at the top shading to pale pink at the base, cased over with crystal, finished with Mica flecks that are deposited under the crystal layer of glass. An example of this design can be found in Leland Marple's book, "Phoenix Art Glass", on page 120, plate 293. This rose bowl stands just a bit over 4 1/4" tall, 3 3/4" with crimped top. There are no cracks, chips or repairs with partially ground pontil. Great addition to your rose bowl or art glass collection.
